About Lacrosse
Lacrosse Overview & League Structure
It's an exciting time to be involved with Lacrosse. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and in the state of Utah. The University of Utah Men's Lacrosse team is an NCAA Division I program as of the 2018-2019 season and Lacrosse is now officially a sanctioned sport at the High School level.
Lacrosse has been called the fastest game on two feet, the Creator's game, and the medicine game and is based on games played by various Native American communities as early as 1100 AD. It is one of the fastest growing sports. If Lacrosse is new to you you're not alone.
The boys youth Lacrosse league run by Intermountain Lacrosse or IMLAX is comprised of new and experienced players from kindergarten to 8th grade. The league runs seasons both in the fall and the spring and players are placed on those teams that correspond to the high school boundary in which they live.

Where do we play?
The Herriman home field is Copper Creek Park in Herriman and this is where we practice. About half of the games are away games played at different locations, usually nearby. IMLAX tries to be sensitive to where games are played to avoid frequent travel of teams and where possible multiple age groups from the same program are scheduled to play at the same field. Some divisions may have fewer teams in them and may require more travel. Where possible IMLAX will also try to schedule a game on a field in more central location if the teams are far from each other.
When are games played?
There are two youth seasons, Spring and Fall. Registration begins in December for Spring and in July for Fall. Spring games start mid-March and are played on Saturdays with the possibility of one or two weeknight games and with the season wrapping up before Memorial Day weekend. Fall games are played primarily on Saturdays starting the first Saturday after Labor Day until mid to late October.
